I’ve known Rami (Formwell founder and owner) for over twenty years and originally started personal training with him when he worked out of the Athletic Club Northeast. Rami is the reason I started coming to Formwell, but he’s not the only reason why I have been a client since 1999. I drive over 15 miles and past many other fitness studios and Crossfit training centers to go there.
The coaches are all knowledgeable, engaged and concerned about your overall health and well-being. The team classes (which are available six days a week) are creative, extremely challenging, and designed to cover all major muscle groups. The setting is more supportive than competitive. Every component of each workout is demonstrated with an easier alternative for members who might not be up for the full-scale challenge of the main plan. Since the bulk of the exercises are body weight focused, the risk of injury is very low. Although I have the discipline to work out myself, I love the extra inspiration I get from my fellow classmates and the Formwell coaches and how I feel when I finish a workout there.
The sense of community can’t be beat. The trainers always greet me with a big hello and the setting reminds me of the television show Cheers - I always know the names of at least half the people I’m training with. I’ve been through many different phases in my fitness life cycle, ranging from a very fit and lean triathlete to a slightly overweight middle aged guy who still ATE like a lean thirty-something triathlete. Currently I’m a fit, almost 55 year old, matching my race times from 5 years ago. Formwell is always willing to meet me where I’m at, but waiting to push me to the next level when I am ready.
